I found this video of a guy who’s known for having tons of information on gaming consoles, specifically the Playstation. It was interesting to me because he speaks about how Sony is looking to do a much more limited release of the PS5 compared to prior consoles they’ve made. It’s rumored that they’re looking to release only 5-7 million consoles worldwide for the first year of the release. That number seems like a lot, although to put it into perspective, the PS4 sold that much pithing the first 2 quarters of the release year. I think it’s interesting for people that are into these things because the smaller release could be due to the technology put into the system, which means the costs of the systems are much more than prior ones created. With that being said, I’m still going to make sure I’m getting mine preordered since I’ve been looking forward to this for the longest time.

When I was watching the movie Rize, there were plenty of scenes that really interested me so it was difficult to choose just one to speak about. After considering all of the scenes that I liked, I came to a conclusion that the final battle scene was definitely my favorite one from the entire movie. From the very beginning, the music starts and you see the gigantic crowd in the stands screaming. From that point on it’s just constant excitement as the dancers battle one on one. The camera work is impressive as you see the camera men switching from multiple different angles while the individuals are performing their dances. It was a Krump off between the Clowns and the Krumpers to see who would come out on top. As the scene goes on, you see how the battles get more and more intense. The crowd is constantly yelling in excitement as they see both contestants battle back and forth. When the Krumpers win the first round, the Clowns go on a rampage of winning four straight individual matchups and you can immediately feel the momentum shift into their favor. Although the movie wouldn’t let you count out the Krumpers because almost immediately, they start to make a comeback and get the crowd back on their side. As the battle continues, the Clowns don’t look back and they take a commanding lead and win the battle by a score of 7 – 4. The scene was one of the more intense and energetic scenes I have seen in a movie. It really had me interested in what was happening, and it kept me looking for more exciting things to occur. I truly believe that this scene of the movie is one of the parts that really made me like the movie as a whole. Up until this point, I wasn’t too sure about how I really felt on the movie. Although, once I saw this final scene, I couldn’t help but feel fully immersed into the environment that was showcased in the scene. I felt like I was a member of the crowd rooting for both sides to put on their best moves and do what they can to impress us. Like many people I assume, I found myself rooting for the Clowns more and I was happy to see them come out on top in the end of it all. The way that the scene was put together was truly impressive to me, and I feel like the director definitely knew what they wanted the viewers to feel when seeing this moment in the movie. Having the ability to get the viewers to feel like they were a part of the crowd is a great thing because it gets us so much more involved in the excitement of the situation. Overall, I believe the movie did a great job in getting the viewers to enjoy the most important parts of the movie.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect coming into watching Rize. By the title of the movie I thought it would have something to do with rising up through some type of adversity. If it wasn’t for the description of the assignment, I never would have thought it would have anything to do with both Krumping or Clowning in Los Angeles. For people that still may not know what Krumping is, it’s a very different style of dancing that first became popular in the 90’s. It’s a way more aggressive style of dance that was widely popular in the hip-hop community during the time. As the movie went on, it showed how the clowns in the groups were actual real clowns, makeup and all. They wore the wigs, the makeup, the red noses and even crazy outfits. They’d have the shoes if it didn’t get in the way when they are performing. The performances sort of look like a fist fight greatly sped up for lack of a better term. To people looking on the outside, it seems like a very random style of dance although it was shown how planned out the dancing really was. The way the performances went was a style of one versus one Krump off to see who could get the best of their opponent. One part I liked about the movie is when we learn more about Tommy the Clown, aka Tom Johnson. We learn about his life and what led to him becoming the man that we see in the film. He was lucky to end up as a clown because he was caught up in the gang lifestyle when he was younger and he was put in jail. Once he was asked to be a clown for a party, he really enjoyed the way people reacted to him and he wanted to keep doing it. He became a type of “ghetto celebrity” as described in the film. He created a group of people just like him and they eventually came up with a new style of dancing, which led to the groups of Krump dancing clowns all over. As the movie goes on we see how the different groups of clowns kind of create their own images and rivalries with other groups. Aside from the traditional clown makeup, they look more like the kind of villains you’d see in something like Batman. As the movie comes to an end, you can see how the lifestyle of people can still catch up to them, although it shows how people also did something to try and get away from their past lives. Overall, I believe that this was an interesting film that people should certainly look into.

I was blind to the wild world of Ozark at this time last week. I’ve had Netflix for a while now but I never came across Ozark even after hearing good things about it. Although once the 3rd season came out, it was all I could see on my Twitter feed and I decided I was gonna see what the hype was about. Boy was I taken back after the first episode. It’s definitely a slow build up but the storyline was so interesting to me that I couldn’t just stop after one or two episodes. I find myself always rooting Ruth because of what happens to her in the story, although I like Marty as a character. I’m definitely impressed that I finished 30 episodes in less than a week while also having to do this online class stuff.

Days get longer and longer without any sports to watch and enjoy. I’ve come to the realization that I didn’t do anything but watch ESPN and follow sports highlights on my Twitter feed. It funny to think that this quarantine has made so many people realize that they’re actually super boring lol. For some reason this is a Channel that I have watched more often since sports is gone and they keep it interesting. Anybody that knows Barstool Sports probably knows these guys. They help make the days a little less dull for me.

For this auto project I plan to make a beat that includes some of the sounds we made in our previous class. This has been an interesting process getting used to how to layer sounds and distort them to sound completely different, I hope it sounds cool in the end. I’m going to use inspiration from Roddy Ricch’s song “The Box”. I hope to make it weird at the same time since I want to make it fun for everybody. I hope it turns out well.

From seeing that TED Talk, it was definitely interesting to see how somebody could do that. From my perspective, I’m not adventerous enough to allow a system to randomly select what I’m going to do for the day or where I’m going to go. I like having some type of control in my life rather than everything being totally random until I end up at my destination.

You’re given the ability to make somebody appear like they’ve said or done something that in fact, didn’t actually happen. Though it can also be used for funny things such as putting woman’s face on a man’s body. For the most part, the ability to create deep fakes is a scary though just because of the potential it has to cause major issues for people in society.

As seen in this video, some of the deep fakes were done in a comical manner, but then you can also see the potential it has to make it look like somebody important in the world has said something that’s detrimental to their career.
